2026 Ford Expedition Buyer's Guide: The One Ford With No Money On It

9 min read

By Marcus Bell, Editor

Every figure below is queried live from active dealer inventory and refreshes daily.

Data last updated: September 10, 2026

Ford publishes an advertised price that is MSRP less the factory's national incentives, before any discount the dealer adds on its own site. That is why almost every Ford on this site shows a price below sticker: it is program cash, applied by the manufacturer, not a dealer being generous. The Expedition is the exception. Of the 16,887 Expeditions in dealer inventory with a price, 88.3% are advertised at exactly MSRP, which on a Ford means no factory money is attached to them at all. 11.7% sit below sticker and 0.0% above.

That is the smallest share of factory money on any of the 11 Ford models with at least 100 units in stock. 8 of the other 10 are at least 90% below sticker; the next lowest is the Maverick at 32.7%. What money does exist sits on the 2026 model year only, in 10 of the 44 states with meaningful 2026 stock, and every certificate in the feed expires on September 30, 2026.

How to read the prices on this page

  • Ford's advertised price is MSRP less national factory incentives, before any dealer discount. “Below MSRP” here is factory cash; “at MSRP” means none is attached.
  • None of these figures is a dealer markup or a dealer discount, and none is compared with Toyota, GM or any brand whose feed carries a genuine dealer asking price. Every comparison is within Ford.
  • A dealer's own site can show a lower number than the feed figure, because the dealer's own discount is not in it. Treat “at MSRP” as a starting point, not a ceiling.

The Entire Discount Is 2 Round Numbers

Advertised price against MSRP takes exactly 3 values across all 16,887 priced Expeditions. That is not a rounding of many negotiated prices; it is what a feed looks like when the only thing moving the number is a factory certificate. A lineup-wide average of those values (the median is MSRP) describes the share of units carrying a certificate, not a price anyone pays, which is why this page leads with shares and certificate amounts rather than averages.

Advertised price vs MSRPUnitsShare
Exactly MSRP14,90988.3%
$1,000 below MSRP1,76910.5%
$500 below MSRP2091.2%

The money behind the discounted rows is Retail Customer Cash on 1,977 vehicles (about $523 per certificate, one or two per vehicle) and Bonus Cash on 138 vehicles (about $500 per certificate), every one of which expires on September 30, 2026. After that date these numbers will move, in one direction or the other, which is why this page is recomputed daily rather than written once. A further 827 units carry an Employee Pricing Program entry listing about $6,264, yet the advertised price on every one of them is exactly MSRP. It is a participating-dealer flag, not money in the price, and it is not counted anywhere on this page. Our Ford Employee Pricing guide covers who actually qualifies.

3 Model Years on the Lot, One With Money

202711,58368.6%$84,574100.0%0.0%

The 2027 model year is already 68.6% of Expedition stock and not one of those units carries factory cash. The 2026 is the only year with money, at 39.5% of its 5,008 units, and the 296 leftover 2025s are 100.0% at sticker. The obvious explanation, that a new model year has not had time to earn incentives, does not survive a look at the rest of Ford's lineup: the Explorer is 28.6% into 2027 and 99.9% of those already carry money; the Super Duty is 14.0% into 2027 and 17.4% of those already carry money. The closeout explanation is mixed: 2 of the 4 other Ford models with 2025 stock in volume carry closeout money on at least 50% of it. 2025 Broncos are 97.1% below MSRP (averaging −$4,850) and Bronco Sports are 99.3% below MSRP (averaging −$5,043), while the 2025 Expedition is 0.0% below.

On sticker, the 2027s on the lot average more than the 2026s in 6 of the 7 trims with volume in both years, by $56 to $1,769. That is what is on the lot, not a list-price change: option loads differ across years, and one trim can walk the other way on mix alone.

Expedition Trim Lineup and Pricing

Trims with fewer than 100 listings nationwide are omitted. “Options” is the average gap between each unit's total sticker and its base MSRP, so it reads how the trim is actually equipped on the lot. Because the only non-zero price values are the certificates above, the “Below MSRP” column is the share of a trim carrying one, and a small average is an artifact of that share rather than a price signal.

King Ranch MAX657$93,160$4,32886.5%13.5%74.4%

The ladder runs $20,249 on average sticker, from the Active at $72,911 to the King Ranch MAX at $93,160. The Platinum MAX is the volume trim at 4,162 units, which matters more than usual here: with no factory money to argue over, selection is the buyer's main lever, and that is the trim with the most of it. Equipment on the lot is lopsided: the Platinum MAX carries about $12,851 of options over base against about $4,301 on the King Ranch, which arrives close to fully equipped from its base price.

Where the 2026 money sits, by trim

Active MAX92241.5%−$907
Tremor74336.2%−$952
Active1,19227.8%−$973

Within the 2026s the certificate lands most often on the King Ranch MAX (54.9%) and least often on the Active (27.8%). The amount barely changes with the trim: where it is present it averages between −$907 and −$978 whether the sticker is $72,911 or $93,160. It is a flat certificate, not a percentage.

The Money Is Regional

The certificate is not a function of trim or price; it is a function of where the truck is parked. Of the 44 states with at least 20 2026 Expeditions in stock, 10 have the cash on at least 90% of them (Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, Virginia, California, South Carolina, Minnesota, Alabama, Maryland, North Dakota), 26 have it on under 5%, and only 8 are genuinely mixed. In unit terms, 2,590 of the 2026s sit in no-money states against 1,837 in money states, and 92.7% of every discounted 2026 in the country is parked in those money states. Texas, the largest Expedition market at 18.0% of national stock across 194 dealers, is 0.0% below MSRP. Across all model years, 552 of 2,399 dealers (23.0%) and 23 of 49 states have a single discounted Expedition. The feed does not name the sales region or the program boundary, so we report the states rather than guess at the map.

Days on the Lot

Expeditions that left dealer inventory in the last 60 days had a median of 45 days on the lot (9,218 units, average 47). By model year: 2025 at a median 54 days (419 units), 2026 at a median 54 days (4,573 units) and 2027 at a median 37 days (4,226 units). One caveat matters here: our Expedition tracking begins June 6, 2026, and 97.0% of the 2025s in stock and 94.9% of the 2026s in stock were already on the lot in its first month, so their days on the lot are floors, not ages. The 2027 figure is the clean one. The certificate does not move metal: sold 2026s with cash attached took a median 55 days (1,791 units) against 54 for those at sticker (2,782). Pace is flat across trims: medians run from 45 days on the Platinum MAX to 49 on the Active.

Set against sales, the Expedition is carrying 107 days of supply (16,887 in stock against 4,746 that left inventory in 30 days), which is the longest of the 11 Ford models with volume; for scale, the Mustang is at 104, the Super Duty is at 103 and the Mustang Mach-E is at 92. Days of supply is a house metric built on feed removals, which are a proxy for sales rather than verified transactions. A slow-turning model with no factory money on it is the unusual combination, and it is the one this page exists to document.

The Expedition Against the Rest of Ford

Same feed, same definition of price, so this comparison is legitimate in a way a cross-brand one would not be. Median is the advertised price against MSRP; every one of these 11 Ford models has zero units above sticker today, so that column is omitted.

How to Shop It

  1. Negotiate the dealer's number, not the factory's. With 88.3% of stock at exactly MSRP, there is no program cash to uncover on most units. The feed figure excludes any discount the dealer adds on its own site, so the dealer's posted price can already sit below it, and that is the figure to work on.
  2. If you want the certificate, you need a 2026, in the right state, soon. 39.5% of 2026s carry it, almost entirely in 10 states, and every one in the feed expires on September 30, 2026. Worth $500 to $1,000 on an $85,280 truck, so do not cross a state line for it.
  3. Buy the 2027 on selection, not price. It is 68.6% of stock with no money on any of it, so the advertised price is identical from dealer to dealer. The Platinum MAX has the deepest selection at 4,162 units. Star White Metallic Tri-Coat and Agate Black Metallic between them are 57.0% of the color mix, so a third color narrows the field fast.
  4. Do not count the Employee Pricing line as a discount. 827 listings carry it and every one is still priced at MSRP; it is a flag that a dealer participates, not money on the truck, and it applies only to people who qualify.
  5. There is no urgency premium. A median 45 days on the lot and 107 days of supply mean the next one is coming. Use the Expedition model page for the state-by-state breakdown and live Expedition inventory to filter by trim and color.

Data note: figures come from 16,887 Ford Expeditions in US dealer inventory, refreshed daily. Prices are Ford's advertised price, which is MSRP less national factory incentives and before any dealer discount; they are not transaction prices and are never compared with brands whose feeds carry a dealer asking price. Listings priced below 60% or above 200% of their own sticker are excluded as feed errors. “Sold” means removed from the feed without being relisted within 60 days, a proxy for a sale. Trim, state and incentive rows need at least 100, 20 and 100 units respectively before they are shown.

Frequently asked questions

Are Ford Expeditions discounted below MSRP right now?

Mostly not. Of the 16,887 Expeditions in dealer inventory with a price, 88.3% are advertised at exactly MSRP, 11.7% below it and 0.0% above. Ford's advertised price is MSRP less national factory incentives, before any dealer discount, so a price below MSRP on a Ford is program cash rather than a dealer markdown, and on the Expedition that cash is only ever $500 or $1,000. Dealers may still discount from there on their own sites.

Does the Expedition carry less factory money than other Fords?

Yes. 11.7% of Expeditions are advertised below MSRP, the smallest share of any of the 11 Ford models with at least 100 units in stock; the next lowest is the Maverick at 32.7%. 8 of the other 10 Ford models are at least 90% below sticker. Our data shows the pattern, not Ford's reason for it.

Which Expedition model year has a rebate on it?

Only the 2026 model year. 39.5% of the 5,008 2026 Expeditions in stock are advertised below MSRP, while the 2025 and 2027 model years carry no factory cash at all. The money is Retail Customer Cash and Bonus Cash on 1,978 vehicles, and every certificate in the feed expires on September 30, 2026.

Which states have Expedition rebates?

It is regional. Of the 44 states with at least 20 2026 Expeditions in stock, 10 have the cash on at least 90% of them (Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, Virginia, California, South Carolina, Minnesota, Alabama, Maryland, North Dakota), 26 have it on under 5%, and 8 are mixed. Texas, the largest Expedition market at 18.0% of stock, is 0.0% below MSRP. Only 552 of 2,399 Ford dealers stocking the Expedition have a single discounted one.

Which Expedition trim is the most common, and which carries the most options?

The Platinum MAX is the highest-volume trim at 4,162 units, averaging $89,364 sticker. Units on the lot carry the most options on the Platinum MAX (about $12,851 over base) and the fewest on the King Ranch (about $4,301). 42.7% of stock is the long-wheelbase MAX, which averages $3,320 more sticker than the standard body.

How long do Expeditions sit on dealer lots?

Expeditions that left dealer inventory in the last 60 days had a median of 45 days on the lot (9,218 units). The 2027 model year, the cleanest read because it arrived after our Expedition tracking began, sits at a median of 37 days; older model years were already on the lot when tracking started, so their figures are floors. The rebate does not change the pace: sold 2026s with cash attached took a median 55 days against 54 for those at sticker.

Does Ford Employee Pricing lower the Expedition's advertised price?

Not in the advertised price. 827 Expeditions carry an Employee Pricing Program entry listing about $6,264, yet the advertised price on every one of them is exactly MSRP. It is a participating-dealer flag, not cash built into the price, so do not add it to any discount figure on this page.
