The RZ is Lexus's first dedicated electric vehicle — built on the same platform as the Toyota bZ4X. Three trims as of 2026: RZ 300e (FWD, 224 horsepower, around 220-mile range), RZ 450e (AWD, 308 horsepower, around 220-mile range), and the new RZ 550e F SPORT Performance (AWD, 408 horsepower, with the steer-by-wire yoke option).
The RZ has been a slow-mover in the segment — outclassed on range by the BMW iX and on charging speed by the Hyundai/Kia EVs on the same Hyundai E-GMP platform. The 2026 update improved charging speed and added the more powerful 550e variant, but the fundamental range disadvantage remains.
Pricing is heavily negotiable. Below-MSRP deals are widely available across all trims; the 550e F SPORT, despite being the newest variant, sees meaningful discounting because Lexus is trying to move volume in a segment where it's not yet competitive. For buyers who specifically want a Lexus EV and can live with the range limitations, the discount on the RZ 300e is significant.
